Halo Weapons For Sale!

Hole. Lee. Crap!

Now, I've never played laser tag, but if I had it would have been with this weapon set! Riley and I WILL be playing Halo laser tag in the distant future, I am sure of it!

Personal AntiSpam

I've been using this service for a few months now and it's working awesomely.
It comes with a little piece of software that tracks how much spam it's caught, when it came, etc. Pretty good stuff.

This is a screenshot of what my inbox looked like after Christmas break. SO glad I don't have to search through that spam manually!

They have a free trial which I did prior to purchasing it. So, check it out if you're in need.

Canon PowerShot A650 IS

Ok, this time we're serious! We dropped a good chunk of cash to get this camera and I'm glad we did. With Christmas coming up, a new baby on the way and not to mention Riley progressing as fast as he's been lately we needed a good camera to keep up with us and give us some really nice clear beautiful...memories!

Our past two camera's hadn't even been with us a year when they quit for one reason or another. (I drowned the last one in the ocean) But this time we purchased the extended service plan so no matter what happens to this investment we're covered. And it feels good! I'm sure I'll post some pics here in the future. For reference I'm posting the c|net review on the new Canon. Yeeha!

Got Identity?

Identity theft. It's the fastest growing white collar crime today. In the "identity underground" various identities are being sold for about 89 cents each. Some are useless (protected) and some are wide open for the crook to use freely.

What can you do to protect your identity? Glad you asked.

1. Check your credit bureau report once a year. More if you don't have protection. Federal law says you can do it free once every year. Sadly, you need to be careful when doing this. Why? Because there are numerous organizations that will sign you up / charge / steal from / etc when you hand over your precious social security number. There are three places that I know are safe. (Recommended by Dave Ramsey.)

TransUnion (http://www.transunion.com)
Experian (http://www.experian.com)
Equifax (http://www.equifax.com/home/)

2. Pay attention to your junk mail. If stuff starts coming in the mail that makes it look like weirdness is going on - it's because weirdness is going on. If you didn't ask for it, don't immediately write it off. Do a little more than thumb through it. Pay attention to what kinds of things are coming through.

3. Ensure your drivers license # is NOT printed on your checks or elsewhere that may be convenient to you from time to time. Rest assured, it's way more inconvenient to have to clean up a stolen identity.

4. The final thing you can do to make sure your protected from identity theives is of course to get protection. Zander Insurance (zanderinsurance.com) will do various things to prevent it from happening but the major thing they do is in the event it is stolen, THEY assign someone to your case and THEY clean it up, not YOU. The average person spends 600 hours trying to clean up their stolen identity. You don't owe anything when it happens, but I can think of a few things I would rather be doing in those 600 hours.

Finally, I'll leave you with the most whacked statistic that I'll put down for you today. 80% of identities stolen were done so by a friend or relative of that person.

Give It Up

So funny.

The Line Just Got Longer

This excerpt pasted from SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER (Written by DAN RICHMAN).

Internet invades portable potties

This is not a joke: Microsoft Corp. is bringing Internet access to the portable toilet.

The iLoo, developed by Microsoft's MSN division, will be a standard portable toilet (or "loo," as the Brits so quaintly call it) equipped with a wireless keyboard and an extensible, height-adjustable plasma screen located directly in front of the seated user.

MSN plans to install an external "Hotmail station" on the outside of the MSN iLoo so people can do something useful while they queue. This will include a waterproof keyboard and plasma screen enabling users to surf the Internet while waiting.

MSN says it's in talks with toilet-paper makers to produce special paper imprinted with URLs that users may not have tried.

MSN marketing manager Tracy Blacher said: "The Internet's so much a part of everyday life now that surfing on the loo was the next natural step. People used to reach for a book or mag when they were on the loo, but now they'll be logging on! It's exciting to think that the smallest room can now be the gateway to the massive virtual world."

The MSN iLoo is in the early phase of construction. Details of its launch have not yet been announced but the MSN iLoo will be making an appearance at British summer festivals.

British Microsoft executives weren't available to discuss whether the iLoo might be exported into the United States.

But Steve Barger, president of Seattle's Northwest Cascade Inc., which owns and services 20,000 Honey Bucket portable toilets, called it "an interesting idea" and said, "We'd be happy to work with Microsoft on a prototype for use here."

Problems he foresees include vandalism or theft of the electronics and damage from the hot water or stream used to clean the units' interiors.

"I don't know if you'd call it a logical next step" to create such a toilet, "but it doesn't seem so unbelievable, especially for high-end special events," he said.

Female Spartan

I'm back with another meaningless quickie!

Artist David Johnson, has put up for eBay auction this one of a kind Female Spartan figure made from polymer clay. The 11.5 inch figure was going for $1,925 last time I checked. While Mistress Chiefs' armor hardly protects her vitals, I'm going to assume that she's planning on a T&A distraction attack at which point she'll shoot enemies in the face!

The money earned goes to the American Breast Cancer Foundation and the figurine comes with a great warranty - he'll fix her no matter how she breaks! Nice work Mr. Johnson!

I vote for her to be a playable character in HALO 4! Who's with me?!

Dropkick Murphys

Last Wednesday we went to see Dropkick at the Bottle and Cork in Dewey. In a word, INSANE! The power went out earlier that day and it must have been 100 degrees...outside.

There is a great write up complete with video and pictures here. Nicole, Lindsey and I are in the 7th picture towards the bottom (just outside the pit) I'm wearing the black LongHorn shirt!

Yeah!

Gone In 60 Seconds

So I was editing the lacrosse show this week right...looking for B-Roll of this guy we're featuring. Tom Ryan. In the middle of his career he suffered two major concussions which forced him to stop playing lacrosse early. So he decided to take up video production instead.

Looking through some stuff he produced I came across this little segment entitled "Gone In 60 Seconds" on a show he hosts & produces called "Rip Roarin Lacrosse".

You have to see it. That's all I'm going to say.

Maxed Out: A Matter Of Life & Debt

I just heard on The Dave Ramsey Show Podcast that there is a movie/documentary out on DVD that speaks to the underhandedness of the banking/lending industry. It's called "Maxed Out" and Dave is actually featured in it. I'm renting this TONIGHT.

This alarming expose’ reveals a banking industry which specifically targets the naïve, the poor, the uneducated, and other high-risk individuals because the best customers are those who are broke. [read more]

Wordpress

Just a quick post to tell you all about the wordpress blog I set up for Watermark. Actually its the entire site, not just a blog. And I'll tell you what else...I'll never design another site from scratch. Screw that! This was way easier and much more fun.

Check it out - sample work should be up soon.

Goodbye Old Dumb Phone

...and hello new Treo 650 almost-smarter-than-me-phone!

This fanciful device is supposed to help me organize my life. And so far, it's working! I won it off eBay so when I charged er up and turned her on I was actually surprized it worked as my history with eBay has been less than favorable.

Anywho, this baby rocks. Now all I need is an SD card to slap in there and I'll really be set! Then I can do all those cool little apps and make my own ringtones and shit. Hell yeah!
